What EP means in RNGdle
Updated 2026-10-01
EP means entropy points. It is the score attached to a roll. The about page says your number’s rarity comes from total EP compared with all possible rolls. It does not print the formula.
Two different “EP” ideas you will see elsewhere
rngdle.net says its rarity lab does not claim to compute another product’s exact EP. rngdle.art documents its own engine, art-1.0.0. Numbers from those sites are their numbers. When this site says EP, it means the integer printed on a rngdle.com badge page, or a sum of those integers. A sum is labeled as a sum, not as the official total.
A few published values
| Badge | EP | Probability | Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Six Digits | 111 | 90.0% | Has exactly six digits. |
| Pair | 120 | — | Contains a pair of matching digits. |
| Sandwich | 1,000 | 10.0% | First and last digits match, with a different digit between them. |
| Hotbox | 100,000,100 | 1.00e-4% | Exactly 420420. |
| Orwellian | 100,000,100 | 1.00e-4% | Exactly 1984. Slug on the site: big_brother_exact. |
The lowest printed badge EP in the 233-page set is 111 (Six Digits). The top printed value is 100,000,100. A V2EX writeup of a different RNGdle-named project claimed that related badges in one family only keep the highest EP. I do not treat that as the rngdle.com rule, because the about page does not say it.
Use the calculator to add published EP for rules we can check. Read rarity for the percentile bands those totals are ranked with.
What I checked myself
I wanted a formula I could code. The about page only gives percentile bands. Each badge page prints a fixed EP integer and a probability string, so I can add those published integers, and I can show them. I cannot show why Six Digits is 111 and Hotbox is 100,000,100, because that step is not on the page. On 1 October 2026 the home leaderboard card listed 420420 at 100,133,055 EP. Hotbox’s own page says the condition is exactly 420420 and its EP is 100,000,100, so the card’s total is higher than Hotbox alone. Extra badges were on that roll. I am not reverse-engineering the gap into a fake formula.

Questions people ask
Is a higher EP always a rarer number?
The about page ranks number rarity by total EP against all possible rolls. Badge rarity is a separate scale based on how often that badge appears.
Why is my calculator total different from the site?
This calculator adds the EP values printed on matching badge pages. The official total can follow extra rules that are not published. If the two differ, the number on rngdle.com is the game’s score.
